Tampa, FL – The memoir “14 Days: A Mother, A Daughter, A Two Week Goodbye” by Lisa Goich was just named a WINNER in the 10th Annual National Indie Excellence Awards. Sometimes we take our mothers for granted. Their caring touch, their homemade remedies, their intuition and life saving advice. Not everyone will be able to celebrate Mother’s Day or her birthday. For many kids and adults who have lost a parent, Mother’s Day and everyday can bring a sense of isolation as they cope privately with their grief while others happily celebrate with birthdays.
14 days – A memoir, is a story of parental loss, and how to lovingly, bravely and gracefully let go of a hand you’ve been holding your entire life. From a child’s first breath, to a mother’s last, this memoir shows how closing that circle can be a celebration of this unbreakable bond. “What grieving people need is to find opportunities to be understood and to express what they’re going through,” said Lisa.
Lisa says that when she wrote 14 Days she had a vision. All she wanted was to have the book be a part of gift packages for families going through hospice, hospital grief groups, doctor’s offices and libraries. Because many of these places don’t have funds to purchase these books for their clients, she has started the 14 DAYS SPONSOR A BOOK PROJECT for readers to donate books in the memory of their loved ones.
“Thus far 150 books have been donated to hospitals, hospices, bereavement centers and cancer centers, and we’d love to continue this trend!” Goich stated. “The book has been a great help to those going through the grieving process and those facing similar situations with their family members and loved ones.”
