Over the past decade, scientists in Creative Biolabs have been focusing on antibody research and development. With the common efforts, they have developed a new technique platform, Native™ Antibody Discovery.
Utilizing this platform, Creative Biolabs is able to isolate goat monoclonal antibody with high specificity and affinity. Through this new platform, they can precisely pick desirable antibodies out of a large pool of native antibody candidates from antigen-specific B lymphocytes of the immunized goat.
Goat is a member of the family Bovidae, phylogenetically distant to mammals such as rabbit and rodent species such as mouse. The total serum volume of an adult goat is about 6-7 times larger than that of rabbits. Also, its serum is far more abundant in immunoglobulins than of other small animal individuals, which is nearly 20 mg/mL. Different from other small animals, a large amount of antiserum can be obtained from a single goat, which effectively eliminates individual variability. Therefore, the goat makes the host of choice for large-scale and low-cost antibody production.
Monoclonal goat antibodies are commonly used for diverse academic research and clinical applications. Currently, there are extensive studies taking advantage of monoclonal goat antibody, which have become an essential tool for immunodiagnostic kits, Host Cell Protein (HCP) Assays, potency assays, etc.
Combined with the antigen-specific B lymphocytes cytometry technology, the Native™ Antibody Discovery is capable of creating a comprehensive pool of native antibodies, from which the ones with desired properties can be isolated. It offers a novel strategy to generate a large amount of candidates using native pairs heavy- chains and light-chains that have gone through in vivo affinity maturation. As a result, goat monoclonal antibodies raised from the Native™ platform can ensure much higher specificity and affinity in contrast to traditional techniques.
