“The Cats Lodge” is all set to become the world’s first hotel for cats and has launched a fundraiser campaign on crowd-funding platform Indiegogo to make it a reality. The project is launched by brother-sister duo Leo and Martina with a noble motive to support the stray cats that struggle to find food and shiver in the cold winters of Italy. They are planning to establish this hotel with a huge garden in a beautiful countryside location for the cats to have a good place to stay while encouraging the guests to interact with the cats and kittens which will also be available for adoption.

The Cats Lodge will be a social enterprise and the profits will be used to look after the cats. Of course, establishing this project will require quite some budget which is why they have launched the fundraiser with a goal of £230,000 which has to be raised in about two months. Martina and Leo hold more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality sector and recently graduated in Business Management.

The colonies of cars are increasing and they are suffering on streets looking for food and shelter in chilling winters. Apart from this factor, the brother-sister has also considered the ongoing economic crisis in Italy due to which the activists and the government do not have enough money to offer solutions to this problem. The Cats Lodge will rescue the stray cats to provide them with the necessary care and also help them in getting a proper home through adoption.

About £180.000 from the total amount raised from the fundraiser will be used to purchase a manor near Calcata, a beautiful town located near Roma. The rest of the amount will be utilized to refurbish the manor and create all the facilities of the B&B such as eight guests rooms, kitchen, parking, garden pool etc.

The backers can also get a number of rewards and presents through this campaign such as by donating £20, they can have access to the blog where the creation of the social enterprise will be documented and for donations of up to £250, the backer can have a weekend at The Cat’s Lodge, inclusive of airport shuttle service from Rome’s airports. For donations more than that, the backer can receive an invitation to the opening of The Cat’s Lodge and a complimentary 3-night stay for two people.

The Cat’s Lodge is aimed to be a clever evolution of the cat’s café idea, which will help hundreds of stray cats in getting the necessary care and support. The Cats’ Lodge will be the first CAT HOTEL, a hotel for humans with cats roaming the public areas. It is not a hotel for cats. Basically, it is an evolution of the cat-cafe concept.
