Considering that less than .5% of our country’s population is active military, and that around 6% of our population has served in the past- we as American’s owe a huge debt of gratitude to these brave men and women who signed on the dotted line to defend our country from all threats both foreign and domestic.

Bob remembers a time when not nearly as many people were pro military and thankful for the sacrifices that they make to keep us safe. During the 1970’s support of the military was at record lows. Largely due to the “hippie” movement which was a proponent of “peace and love”. Fighting a war was the exact opposite of what that movement represented.
Sadly when soldiers came back from the war, they were largely met with disdain and often hatred.
In 2017, we see our sons and daughters protecting America’s borders on many different fronts. From being overseas to being stationed stateside. We know being gone from your friends and family for long periods of time is not ideal, but it is a sacrifice these men and women make to protect America, and you and me.
