About Us
Jay Wagner (jay@re-cycleathletics.com) – believes that you can’t have a healthy body without a healthy planet, and this principle is firmly rooted in Re-Cycle Athletics’ innovation and culture. As the brainchild of Re-Cycle, he began researching the concept for a “green” cycling studio this year and forged together these elements into an organization. Jay has always been health conscience and physically fit most of his life. His career in the health and fitness industry began over 16 years ago in San Francisco. He holds multiple certifications as a massage therapist, personal trainer, and nutritionist. His passion for the environment was sparked in 1993 during his service in the Navy where he spent a good part of his career focusing on environmental and hazardous waste clean-up on military bases in the United States.
Nori Castillo (nori@re-cycleathletics.com) – is responsible for the business and financial stewardship of the organization. Concurrently with the co-founding of Masdar with Jay since 2009, he currently is the CFO at Muse Brands LLC in San Francisco. Previously the Managing Director at UC Berkeley’s SkyDeck, an incubator-accelerator for technology and research start-up businesses on campus, and was the Finance Manager on a multi-million-dollar lab project, DUSEL in South Dakota with collaboration between UC Berkeley & Lawrence Berkeley National. Nori has long history of developing start-up companies in the San Francisco bay area, beginning with WIRED Magazine in 1993. Nori holds a B.A. in Environmental Economics from the University of California Berkeley, and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of San Francisco.
