Aptos, CA – Today, The iWater Purification Foundation (iWP), announced they will increase the iWP Clean Water Scholarship to $5,000 per year for two students. Citing strong business growth and an increased need for qualified workers in The United States, iWP decided that awarding scholarships towards tomorrow’s scientists to work on clean water is one of the most important goals we have as a global society.
“We are very proud of our scholarship program, and of the students who were awarded it last year,” said Alexa Bartel, Chief Editor at iWP “we are really looking forward to reviewing applications this year and announcing the winners”. Some of iWP’s continued success is as a result of their commitment to being a force for good in the community, and their readers take notice.
The iWP Clean Water Scholarship was introduced last year and received over 400 applications. Students students from the United States received their $1,000 scholarships towards textbooks. This year, iWP plans to do much better by introducing two $5,000 scholarships, which can make a serious impact on the future of a student.
“We decided to increase the scholarship simply because $1,000 doesn’t go as far as it used to”, continued Mrs. Bartel “students would apply to hundreds of scholarships and not even know the names of who awarded them. We think a $5,000 scholarship can actually make a dent in student’s tuition and other costs, albeit not as much as we would like. Maybe next year.”
