It’s hard to believe that World of Warcraft (WoW) is already 13 years old. It feels that it was just yesterday that we were all celebrating its 10th anniversary in Warlords of Draenor while petting our cute Molten Corgis. Today, we’re on the abyss of the end of Legion and the beginning of the next expansion, Battle for Azeroth. Through all the years, we have seen the Alliance and Horde battle it out against one another, against Old Gods, the Burning Legion, an angry Dragon, fluffy pandas, crazy orcs, the Legion again, and soon enough, back to the old stomping grounds of Alliance versus Horde.
No other MMO can boast a healthy lifespan (looking at you RuneScape and Everquest) with tons of content as well as spin-offs that made Blizzard the successes they are today. In fact, many other MMOs wouldn’t even exist if it wasn’t for WoW. After years of much WoW Gold spent, mounts tamed, bosses killed, and raids cleared, WoW still has a healthy future ahead of it due to each fantastic expansion release. If you haven’t seen the cinematic trailer for the Battle for Azeroth yet, then watch it now as it will pump you up.
Celebrate WoW’s 13th anniversary in-game by fighting old world bosses like Kazzak, Azuregos, and the Green Dragons. These bosses will drop special ilvl 900 versions of their original loot, updated to modern standards and can even be found Titanforged!
Enjoy new items to exchange for Timewarped Badges like the Bronze-Tinted Sunglasses, the Tranquil Mechanical Yeti Costume, and much more! The event will run until the 30th of November so get to grinding out those badges with the event quests, random dungeons, or the Chromie scenario!
Also, take into consideration that, before the release of the Battle for Azeroth, this month up until the release of the expansion in 2018 may be your last chance to obtain certain items and achievements in Legion. Better burn that midnight oil so that you don’t miss out on special stuff that you may never obtain ever again when the Battle for Azeroth pre-patch hits next year. Trust us; procrastinating isn’t exactly something you should be doing in WoWcheevs, even this far from BoA launch.
13 years of War, fun, friendship, and challenges, and here’s to hoping that the game gets another 13 years more down the road! For Azeroth!
