In this fun, uplifting drama, the journey of twin brothers is followed as they move from L.A. to Bay Shore, New York. As they embark on the next chapter in their lives in a new high school, viewers gain an insight into their experiences, growth, friends, family, and love lives.
Grow-Up Productions
For the last 4 years, the twin brothers in charge of forming Grow-Up Productions have been working on perfecting the script. Therefore, no money raised will go towards the cost of script development. Rather, funds will be used for purchasing equipment, actor payroll, and securing shooting locations. All funds raised will be combined with the money that Grow Up Productions has already put into the project.
Something New: Planning and Funding
Planning for the project has been underway for four years. Most of the television show will be shot at Bay Shore High School where the actual story occurs. Many of the set crew will be the people depicted in the show.
Auditions will be held in an office space in Manhattan already acquired by Grow-Up Productions. Funds raised will go toward:
-
Actor payroll
-
Equipment needed to film
-
Locations, such as the twin brother’s home, to be rented
-
Wardrobe
-
Food
-
Transportation
Industry Experience
Working with Marvel, one of the biggest film companies in the industry, has allowed the head of production the chance to learn the filming process from a major production company. Currently enrolled at Long Island University (LIU), post majoring in Film, he is confident that a ground-breaking television series will be delivered. Don’t let the crews young age be a deterrent. By working with Marvel, the time spent there has taught him about budgeting, producing, acting, and professionalism.
As with any independent project, there are certain risks and challenges. Poor acting quality will be eliminated with a two-day casting call that will ensure the best acting an independent project can offer. Location is also not a factor as the brothers are friends with many staff members and the principal at the high school where filming is to take place. The superintendent of the school is even on board!
