Otherwise known as The Band of the Hawk Underground Pyramid (#BOHUP), The Band of the Hawk has again shook the music world with the release of their new project – “Kangol.” The album was produced by the talented Noah Archangel, featuring 13 fantastic tracks. Comprising 4 talented rappers, #BOHUP brought their A-game to the project, delivering meaningful bars over dope lo-fi boom bap production and giving lovers of rap music a collection of entertaining yet informative songs.
The world of entertainment has evolved over the years with the emergence of several creative minds across the globe, contributing their quota to the development of the industry. The music industry has witnessed tremendous growth, with the hip hop community seemingly spearheading the growth. Unfortunately, the rap game seems to have lost some of the features that gave it the glory many of the artists currently enjoy. With many rap songs available today lacking “content” that made the world fall in love with the music genre, it has become imperative for stakeholders in the industry to bring back the seemingly lost glory of the rap culture. One music group that is looking to take the rap game and of course, the hip hop community to a whole new level is The Band of the Hawk.
The group offers a unique style of delivering thought-provoking yet entertaining lyrics, which has become their signature over the years. The mercenary company, known as DEF on the battlefield, is a spacious affair, and their recent project further reiterates their somewhat unconventional yet attractive rap style.
Highlights of the album include the light and airy, electric guitar-infused “Spirit Bomb” and the cool, calm and collective “Funny Bunny” that urges folks not to speak unless it’s about the money. The crew even takes it back to the days of skits in Hip-Hop, with a witty one of their own titled “Phite Weoples.” Another track worth mentioning is the super smooth “Golden Child” where each member of the group gets a chance to tap into a more braggy flow that adds more dimension and versatility to the album.
Along with Kangol on streaming services, #BOHUP also released exclusive CD’s and limited vinyl that can be found on www.bandofthehawk.com. Check out “Kangol” and be on the lookout for upcoming videos on for the tracks “Bedrock,” “Spirit Bomb,” and “19 Mentality featuring AG Da Coroner.”
