Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA – Keely Gabehart, high school senior and future student of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, is the winner of the $500 Acts 1:8 Ministry Scholarship — a scholarship designed to help students who share a passion for spreading kindness throughout their community so that they can attain their educational goals. To qualify, students were asked to submit a 500-word essay following the prompt “How have you helped spread kindness in your community and how has it made you think differently about yourself, others, and the world around us?”
In her essay, Keely acknowledges that embracing her Christian faith was a turning point in her life. Since then, she’s dedicated her spare time to helping people find hope and showing them that no one is truly ever alone. As an active senior in high school, both academically as well as outside the classroom, Keely enjoys helping her community by leading vacation bible school groups as well as being actively involved in her youth group.
The Acts 1:8 Ministry Scholarship is offered by the non-profit organization, Acts 1:8 Ministry. The scholarship was open until October 31, 2019, and drew many passionate and talented applications from young individuals focused on spreading kindness throughout their communities.
The Acts 1:8 Ministry Scholarship committee was impressed by Keely’s dedication to her faith as well as the positive impact her choices as a Christian has had on those around her as she prepares for the next step in her academic career.
