(Albany, US) DelveInsight has launched a new report on Human Papillomavirus Epidemiology
DelveInsight’s Human Papillomavirus Epidemiology Forecast to 2030 report delivers an in-depth understanding of the disease, historical and forecasted Human Papillomavirus (HPV) epidemiology in the 7MM, i.e., the United States, EU5 (Germany, Spain, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom), and Japan.
Human Papillomavirus is the most common DNA virus that causes infection in the epithelial cells of skin and mucosa. The moist epithelial surfaces (squamous cells) include all areas covered by skin and/or mucosae such as the mouth interior, throat, tongue, tonsils, vagina, cervix, vulva, penis (the urethra – the opening), and anus. Contact of the areas mentioned above with a virus leads to the transmission of the virus, allowing it to transfer between epithelial cells. While it is known that sexual contacts, both conventional and oral, are the means of transferring HPV through direct skin to skin contact, other possible pathways for the transfer of virus are still poorly known. HPV can cause cervical and other cancers, including cancer of the vulva, vagina, penis, or anus. It can also cause cancer in the back of the throat, including the base of the tongue and tonsils (called oropharyngeal cancer). Cancer often takes years, even decades, to develop after a person gets HPV. Additionally, the types of HPV, which can cause genital warts, are not the same as the types of HPV that cause cancers.
