E teacher has launched as the first educational platform of its type to offer a more flexible way for students to learn and for teachers and tutors to earn. E Teacher will be available to download from app stores from March 2021. The app has been designed to meet the educational needs of today, with founder and educator of 19 years Kristi McDonald asserting that the current public school system is too often failing families, students, and teachers.

The app works by helping parents and students find a suitable educator for their needs in their area, whether that be a qualified teacher, community tutor, or a business offering educational services. Through the app, users can refine by in-person or online learning, price, and location, before choosing an educator who’s right for them. From here they’ll be able to book and schedule directly through the app. Types of sessions to choose from include traditional subjects such as math and science, specialist classes such as art and music, and professional qualifications such as IELTS.

They will also be able to look for educators with an E Teacher Certification Badge. Possessing one means the educator has been through an extensive background check, reference check, education check and is up to date on best practices for tutoring virtually or in person.
