Also known as The Education Doctor, Dr. Pamela Ellis sets to host a virtual event for parents of 8-11th graders – College Prep Made Easy. Slated to happen on February 12 from 12 pm – 4 pm, the event promises to be insightful. Renowned for her skill and experience in helping teenagers prepare for college, Dr. Pamela understands first-hand how stressful it is for career moms to see their kids through college admissions. She also understands how tricky parenting teens can be because their emotions are quickly all over the place at this stage of their lives.
This event is therefore geared towards helping parents through this rather tough time with ease. It’s easy for parents to bury themselves in guilt when they don’t have time to help their children prepare for college. Parents also get overwhelmed and stressed with the process and realize that so much has changed since they applied to college years ago.
Dr. Pamela is out to change all that, especially with her upcoming event. Since she founded Compass College Advisory, she has helped a good number of teenagers to write winning applications and also guide them during the process. With her guidance, parents rest assured that their kids have accountability while also maintaining a healthy relationship with their kids.
According to Dr. Pamela, I founded Compass College Advisory because it felt good to do so. It’s truly my calling. I’ve been in education long enough to know that the admissions process can fuel or fizzle a spirit that wants to go to college to create a successful career and life. Competition, application essays, tuition can easily get overwhelming to a high school student and their family. It’s painful to see students get overwhelmed and lose steam or not take a stand for their skills and talents. With proper guidance, the whole process can be exciting and fun.
Dr. Pamela’s job revolves around maximum support. Teenagers and parents who decide to work with Dr. Pamela are carried along properly throughout the process. Driven by passion, practicality, and dedication, Dr. Pamela brings over 2 decades of experience to helping every family realize their dream of college.
She works with students to help them find the college that is right for them, write winning essays and obtain scholarships. She has also written a helpful book, “What to Know Before They Go: College Edition” which has been coined as “the how-to guide for the teen years.” This book as well as the upcoming event are geared towards helping parents help their kids without getting overwhelmed.
According to Jennifer M, a parent, “Dr. Pamela is an outstanding counselor, providing far more individualized focus than high school college prep counselors. She offers loving support, encourages self-discipline, and provides mentorship. Her proprietary college search system was significantly more effective than what our daughter’s school offered. Dr. Pamela provides holistic guidance from sophomore year of high school to freshman year of college. Her support is more comprehensive than most college counselor services, ranging from high school course selection, summer enrichment programs, college research, college visits, applications, scholarships, and internships. On a more personal note, I had many friends who had regular fights with their children over meeting deadlines, creating college lists, and revising essays. We didn’t have any of that because Dr. Pamela provided a structure for our daughter to do those things herself. In this way, Dr. Pamela helped preserve our relationship with our daughter in an otherwise stressful time. I would unequivocally recommend Dr. Pamela. Her services were worth the investment!”
“So much has changed since I was a senior in high school and applying to a college that I just didn’t really even know where my son should start. Because he’s worked with Dr. Pamela, he’s confident that the skills and unique qualities that he has will shine through on his applications and essays and that he’ll be competitive with other students. I feel confident that when my son submits his college applications, he’ll be a great candidate for several schools. Dr. Pamela really takes the time to get to know the students and families she works with. This allows her to make appropriate recommendations and serve as a guide with a wealth of information during this stressful process. She has a way of getting your student to take charge of this process, in an organized way, which ultimately saves time and relieves stress,” says Cambra E, another satisfied parent.
