LA, California – Mar 4, 2022 – For those that have heard about, or are fans of ‘Demilo’, the stories of his name, journey, and lifestyle have been elusive. More so for those who haven’t even heard of him at all. Demilo has been compared to a force of nature.
Demilo is an independent queer artist from the Los Angeles Area. Demilo ran away to his boyfriend’s house in Canada at the very young age of 16 after being ousted and discriminated against. He had to leave after only one year though, coming back to the states and started bartending at 18. Being a fighter, Demilo got his GED, and got accepted into Pittsburgh
Having gone through depression, he started playing underground shows in college houses. Then to get away from his depression, he moved into a car and traveled the country like Bob Dylan or Stevie Nicks. Over the years, he has lived in a surf rock band, gone back home to be with his family, written fifteen albums, and is currently working on the sixteenth.
Demilo’s struggles didn’t end there. He stripped and lived out of a Walmart parking lot, finished his degree by doing construction work for the PCTA, cleaning up where wildfires destroyed the California Mountains, and forming a band with a few friends, and playing at a local pub every week. After struggling for a while, he got a desk job with the Red Cross that took him to Florida, were he finished his degree but developed a terrible drug problem. When things got really bad, his mom finally got in contact with him and told him to come home, where he came to sobriety.
Demilo’s story is an inspirational one, and as an artist who has shown that gender, sexuality, and general life struggles can be overcome, there is no limit to what he can achieve. Demilo has started to play gigs around the Los Angeles area, and brand himself as a household name. His latest album titled Loverboy comes with amazing tracks like ‘Whole Damn Vibe’, ‘Doing fine’, and ‘Classic cartoons’.
