In 2016, Horace Neysmith created the Underclassmen All American Games to showcase high level basketball talents while equipping players with information that helps them prevent diabetes. Diagnosed as a Type 2 diabetic in 2011, Neysmith changed his diet and increased his exercise frequency to gradually work himself off of diabetes medication. His experience created a sense of urgency to equip players with information geared towards awareness & prevention instead of a reaction once things have reached a certain point. Beyond the event programming with this goal in mind, all net proceeds  will go to the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation and the American Diabetes Association.

“The Underclassmen All American Games bring two of my biggest passions together: the game of basketball and the fight against diabetes”, says UCAA Founder, Horace Neysmith, “As important as it is to showcase the notable & national talents these games will feature, it’s just as crucial that we encourage them to take care of their bodies in a way that focuses on prevention instead of reaction.” Event sponsors include:

Admission to the UCAA games is free for everyone 17 and under, and tickets are $10 for all others. Fans and supporters that are unable to attend can watch each game live & on demand on SUVtv and HBCU League Pass Plus. “Since its inception, the Underclassmen All American Games have provided exposure for some of the best up-and-coming high school basketball players in the country”, says Marques Burnett, Founder of SUVtv, “We look forward to this year’s broadcasts on our platform and on HBCU League Pass Plus as we look to maximize the audience of basketball fans, college coaches, and all looking to support a great cause.”
