The Jones International University MBA/DBA program has been granted Initial Accreditation by the International Council for the Accreditation of Academic Evaluation (ICAAE) Commission on Accreditation. The ICAAE granted the accreditation based on the MBA/DBA program’s application. The accreditation period is through November 2028 and requires a progress report to be reviewed by the ICAAE.
The Jones International University is the pioneer in online learning. The founder, Glenn R. Jones, has devoted much of his life to his passionately held belief that education should be available to everyone, everywhere.
In the nascence of the Internet, Jones foresaw the potential and started The Jones International University in 1993 – the first university anywhere to exist completely online. Despite the naysayers, Jones knew in his heart that this was the future of education. Since then, JIU has continued to develop and expand our degree programs – all of which are designed to meet the needs of busy professionals eager to shape their futures.
Business Administration has become a more visible field with diverse training and in-demand skills during the pandemic and its impact on mental health and vulnerable populations. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projects an expected growth in social work jobs of 15 percent by 2030, making social work one of the fastest-growing professions in the United States.
The Initial Accreditation status requires the program to submit a progress report that provides summary data and outcomes for the assessment of each of the identified competencies for students.

“Receiving ICAAE accreditation for our MBA/DBA program is a wonderful accomplishment and it shows the quality of our program to all current and prospective students, our academic colleagues, and community partners,” states Stephen Silverman, Ed.D., Graduate School dean of Jones International University. “Our mission is to provide access to higher education to more individuals and this programmatic accreditation provides us the opportunity to serve even more communities. I am so proud of the entire team who worked so hard to achieve this goal.”
ICAAE’s COA is responsible for developing accreditation standards that define competent preparation and ensuring that MBA/DBA programs meet these standards. By the requirements of ICAAE’s recognition body, the ICAAE Office of Accreditation administers a multistep accreditation process that involves program self-studies, site visits, and COA reviews. There are, as of April 2022, 376 programs accredited by ICAAE.
International Council for the Accreditation of Academic Evaluation, (ICAAE) has provided quality evaluation and verification of foreign educational documents for thousands of internationally educated professionals from more than 95 countries around the world.
An ICAAE credential evaluation report can help an individual with a foreign academic background/credentials to gain access to higher education, employment, or professional certification in the United States. It can also be used to fulfill the requirements of the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service.
“This is an exciting time for the Jones International University,” states Stephen Silverman, Ed.D., Graduate School dean of Jones International University. “It makes sense to offer a distance program in MBA/DBA. We need business administration workers, and we need them in companies that do not have access to other forms of education. This program offers the opportunity for people to become managers while living and working in their own companies. This is a real game-changer for companies that do not have academically trained, as individuals can now get their education and work for justice and diversity.
