At present, many families have started to grow their own indoor hydroponic vegetable garden and flowers and fruits by themselves. Maybe the merchants will advertise how easy their machines are to use, but there is no guarantee that your plants will not encounter problems during the growth process, so this article lists Some problems that may be encountered in hydroponic cultivation, and put forward our analysis and solutions for your reference
1. Why won’t my seeds sprout?
a) The seeds have expired.
b) The seeds have lost their activity. (Stored at high temperature or stored for too long)
c) The seeds themselves have problems.
d) The substrate is too wet, and the seeds are immersed in water for a long time.
e) If the substrate is too dry, the seeds cannot absorb water.
f) The temperature is not enough or too high.
2. Why are my plant leaves turning yellow?
Symptoms: Plant leaves turn yellow and look unhealthy.
There are many possible reasons for the yellowing of plant leaves. The following lists can be used for your own reference:
a) Deficiency of nutrients: Especially in the late stage of plant growth, during the flowering and fruiting period of flowers and fruits, when the slow-release rate of slow-release fertilizers cannot keep up with the speed of plants absorbing nutrient elements, plants will turn yellow due to lack of nutrients. Be careful to add some nutrient solution to the plant.
b) Insufficient light: Adjust the distance between the light panel and the plant as the plant grows leggy (raises it higher).
c) Too much water for a long time: Hydroponic plants can grow and survive in water, but part of the roots must breathe, and the roots cannot be completely submerged in water. Appropriately reduce moisture.
d) The light is too strong: the light is too strong, causing the plant to burn and turn yellow, adjust the distance between the plant and the light panel, and remove the burnt part.
e) Too little water: When there is too little water in the plant, the phenomenon of dry yellow will appear, and the water of the plant will be replenished in time.
f) Old leaves turn yellow: Plants gradually become lush in the later stage of growth, and some old leaves will turn yellow and wither, so cut them off at this time.
g) Insect yellow: The yellowing of some plants is caused by insect pests. Pay attention to check whether there are insects and clean up the existence of insects in time.
h) Yellow disease: If various elements such as temperature and humidity, fertilizer moisture, and light environment are suitable for plant growth, but the plant still turns yellow, it is considered that the plant is infected with bacterial or fungal diseases, resulting in yellowing of plant leaves. Yellow leaves.
i) Frozen yellow: some plants will have yellow leaves after being frozen. Pay attention to planting in winter to keep the plants warm.
3. Why tomato late blooming?
Situation 1. The flower buds are not differentiated, or the long leaves are not blooming
Reason: The undifferentiated flower buds indicate that the plant is still in the vegetative growth period (long roots, stems and leaves), or the temperature is not suitable for the plant to be unable to differentiate the flower buds (tomato growth environment is lower than 15 degrees Celsius, it cannot bloom, and higher than 30 degrees Celsius will also affect flowering). Light long leaves without flowering may be due to too much nitrogen, which makes the plant focus on vegetative growth.
Solution: If the environmental conditions are suitable, you can wait patiently. If it exceeds the time (for example, dwarf tomatoes and malachite grass will have flower buds in about 40 days), you can add some elements that make the plants bloom earlier (such as the following phosphorus Potassium fertilizer), or reduce the light time to promote flower bud differentiation.
Situation 2. The flower buds are differentiated but they do not bloom
Reason: lack of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, or the plant has not yet reached the flowering period.
Solution: Under the adaptation of environmental conditions, it usually takes 35 to 40 days for dwarf tomatoes to bloom until the first clump of inflorescences.
At this time, you can wait patiently. If it has not bloomed for more than 2 months, you can add some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to make the plants bloom earlier, or reduce the light time to promote flower bud differentiation.
Situation 3. After the flower buds are differentiated, the flowers turn yellow, and the flowers and fruits drop.
Reason: lack of nutrients and insufficient temperature will cause flowers and fruits to fall.
Solution: Apply 2,4-D solution on the market to keep the fruit set rate. We do not recommend using it in the family. Generally, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are added, and the temperature should be kept between 18-28 °C.
LED hydroponic lights
When growing hydroponic plants indoors, because light is not easy to obtain, we can use artificial LED hydroponic lights to make up for the deficiency, and this can control the entire planting process more finely
- Smart Funcational Control Panel – Vacation mode, Automatic timer& Local timer display, Temperature& Humidity & Planting days display, Three spectrum available, Water shortage remind, five brightness level.
- Water/Oxygen Cycle for Root – Reputational increasing the proportion of oxygen in water
- Features a 4.7L large water tank.
- 11 pots included – use this indoor garden to grow up 11 different plants(herbs/ veggies/ flowers) at once.
- 24w grow light – supply enough sunlight, make plants grow quickly and healthily.
- Height Adjustable – Suitable for the whole period of plant growth.
