NEW ZEALAND VISA FOR NETHERLANDS CITIZENS
From October 1, 2019, Dutch citizens wishing to experience all that New Zealand has to offer will require a New Zealand e-Travel Permit. Applying for the NZeTA as a Dutch citizen is simple and straightforward. The New Zealand eTA for the Netherlands is valid for 2 years and allows travellers to make multiple stays within the territory for up to 90 consecutive days each. In order to obtain the eTA, applicants must complete the online application form, which takes approximately 10 minutes.
Citizens must answer basic questions about personal, passport, health and security information and pay International Conservation and Tourism Visitor Tax, if applicable.
Do Dutch citizens need a visa for New Zealand?
Since October 1, 2019, Dutch citizens must apply for the New Zealand eTA before leaving their home country. The New Zealand eTA improves border and internal security within the island nation, making the entire border crossing process easier and faster.
Meanwhile, the IVL is a payment required from some travellers to support New Zealand’s infrastructure and protect the country’s natural environment. The NZeTA allows multiple entries during its 2-year validity, while the IVL only has to be paid once during the life of the eTA. Dutch transit passengers who have a stopover at Auckland International Airport en route to another destination must also apply for an NZeTA.
However, transit passengers will not be charged an IVL when applying for their New Zealand eTA. It is also worth noting that the same requirements apply to Dutch visitors arriving in New Zealand by air and sea. This means that cruise passengers must also apply for a valid eTA prior to arrival.
