The international zone of the Hangzhou Asian Games Village in Xiaoshan district, an important supporting complex of the much-anticipated international sporting gala, was recently unveiled.

Located at the center of the village, the international zone is encircled by the Athletes’ Village, Technical Officials’ Village and Media Village and will carry out a variety of public events during the Games.

The complex, covering a total area of 67,700 square meters, is comprised of four individual buildings connected by a 1.6-kilometer walkway on the second floor. Three basketball courts and one seven-on-seven football field are located next to the track.

The courtyard of the village head, which is located on the roof of Building 1, is a highlight of the zone. It is expected to impress international guests with its distinctive Song Dynasty (960-1279) architectural style, with a square pond, marble boat, tea house, and artificial hills.

The zone will mainly serve guests from national and regional Olympic committees, offer medical and financial support, and build up new public facilities such as a community cultural center, a youth activity center, and fitness centers.
