Canada Visa For Italy, Dutch, Japan and Portuguese Citizens

CANADA VISA FOR ITALY CITIZENS

If you are flying, you must obtain an ETA before boarding your flight. You do not need a visa to visit Canada as an Italian citizen. The eTA was introduced by the Canadian government in 2015 to facilitate short-term international travel. The Canadian eTA is a multi-entry permit that can be obtained online. Italian citizens planning to visit Canada must apply for a Canadian Electronic Travel Authorization online (eTA). They can now visit the Great White North without a visa. The Canadian eTA for Italian citizens allows visa-free stays of up to 6 months for the following purposes: Holidays, family visits, business trips or transit purposes. It is valid for 5 years, it allows Italian visitors to stay 6 months on each visit. This Online Travel Authorization is electronically linked to the traveler’s passport and cannot be transferred to a new document. This means if a passport expires 5 years ago, the Canadian eTA will also expire. Italian passport holders traveling to Canada can enter Canada with an approved eTA without applying for a standard visa at an embassy or consulate. This can be done in minutes. Simply enter the required details in a short form and the eTA will be confirmed by email shortly thereafter (usually within a maximum of 24 hours).

CANADA VISA FOR PORTUGUESE CITIZENS

If you are from Portugal, today is your lucky day because the ETA can be obtained from Canada. To enter Canada on a short-term basis for general tourism, business, transit, or medical purposes, Portuguese citizens must apply for a Canada eTA visa. However, keep the Canada ETA in mind as you plan your trip to Canada. This document isn’t available in every country. Some nationalities, however, are fortunate enough to be able to apply. Since 2016, when the Canadian government introduced the Canadian eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization), an electronic visa waiver that allows Portuguese citizens multiple entries for a 6-month stay with each entry during its validity, this process has been incredibly simple. Portuguese citizens traveling to Canada for up to 180 days do not need a visa to enter the country but must obtain travel authorization in advance. An eTA visa waiver for Canada eTA from Portugal is valid for a period of 5 years or until the expiry date of the traveler’s passport. It allows multiple entries into Canada through any of the country’s airports during this period, but not entry into the country through a land or sea border. However, a Portuguese citizen can stay in the country for a maximum of 180 days on each entry. For longer stays, travelers must apply for a different type of Canada visa. The Canadian ETA will be linked to the traveler’s Portuguese Passport and is read by electronic immigration machines at the border upon arrival. The eTA Canada for Portuguese citizens was introduced to speed up the process of obtaining a Canada visa waiver from Portugal and can be conveniently applied for by the traveler own home. The ETA application for Portuguese citizens is a simple process and involves completing a Canadian ETA application form online.

  • Online payment via credit or debit card is required before the travel authorization approval process can begin.
  • An email address is required to finalize the application and to receive communication about the eTA’s approval.
