Are you influenced by Dr. Wajih El Hage’s outstanding work? Want to know more about the well-known Lebanese dentist Wajih El Hage? Follow up with the following interview, which we were glad to do with him.

1) What characterizes a good dentist?

A good dentist does not concentrate his attention on the teeth. He or she always looks at the relationship of the teeth to the lips and the entire face. The teeth should not be viewed in isolation. They should in harmony with the overall facial features be and they should suit the personality of the patient.  That’s why I always look at the patient’s face first and then at the teeth.

2) How important is precise planning?

Precise planning is the key to success in dentistry. The best dentists are those who carefully plan their cases in minute detail. They never make the same mistake twice.

3) What do you love most about being a dentist?

Being a dentist fulfills my intellectual needs for stimulation. There is never a boring day. Each day and each patient presents a new set of challenges, which is what keeps me engaged and enthusiastic about my career.

4) Do you consider the trendy “Hollywood smile” a healthy smile?

I actually always warn people about this. Awareness of dental hygiene and the importance of taking care of it and the gums is much more important than a bright white smile. We can have a beautiful, white smile for a period ranging between three and ten years, but the teeth left behind by this spotless smile are worn out. “And it is not healthy at all.” I repeat myself: taking care of the health of the mouth and gums should be a priority in our daily lives.

5) What do you think you can contribute to the dentistry profession?

I can contribute to the integrity of my profession by running a practice based on a good work ethic, high moral values, and excellence in dentistry.

6) We all have had a dream since childhood; what is the dream of the famous doctor?

Away from medicine, since I was a child, I dreamed of owning a small restaurant in the heart of Italy, especially in the Italian city of Amalfi, with an Italian chef serving the most delicious Italian meals of pasta and pizza.
