The Canton Fair is finally back for 2023 after years of being closed! There are a couple of catches but otherwise the Canton Fair is back.
1.Is The Canton Fair Open for Foreigners in 2023?
YES – The Canton Fair is open for business in 2023 (finally). After years of COVID hiatus, the Canton Fair is back on for April 2023 and foreigners are completely welcome. China recognizes any previous visas you had issued (as long as they’re still valid).
2.Canton Fair Dates & Phases
The Canton Fair is spread out over three phases over three weeks.
Canton Fair Dates Spring 2023
April 15 – 19, 2023: Heavy industry, like mechanical equipment and electronic products
April 23 – 27, 2023: Light industrial daily consumer goods category, such as gifts and freebies
May 1 – 5, 2023: Textiles and clothing, medical products category
3.How to Get a Chinese Visa
Citizens of most countries require a visa to enter Mainland China. In order to obtain a VISA, you need to either visit the closest Chinese Consulate to where you live or use a visa agency (i.e. a travel agent).
Keep in mind that it takes a couple of weeks to actually get the VISA, so don’t wait until the last second to apply, otherwise, you will have to pay rush fees. China issues most visas as ten years visas now. You should officially get a business visa which requires an invitation form (easy and free) from the Canton Fair.
4. Welcome to Visit the Canton Fair
You should go if you have been finding Suppliers via Alibaba and want to make the next leap.
You should go if you have current Suppliers who will be exhibiting at the fair (makes it easy to meet and greet with multiple Suppliers).
You should go if you’re a first-time business visitor to China.
You should go if you’re importing mass-market consumer commodities.
