The ongoing war in Ukraine has forced many IT companies to move to other European countries, including Nectain, an enterprise low-code platform for digital process automation. Founded by the Ukrainian technology group Intecracy Group in 2008, the platform was developed to automate processes and events in order to facilitate custom development. In 2020, it was spun off into a separate company, Nectain, which offers automation using low code, making it accessible to even non-IT professionals. The platform has been successful in Ukraine, registering over a hundred thousand users, including operators Kyivstar and Ukrtelecom, as well as Naftogaz, arms manufacturer Ukroboronprom, PIN Bank, Bank Lviv, Idea Bank, DTEK, Bank Ukrainian Capital, and significant state projects such as the Ukrainian real estate management registry.
Low code is a software development approach that simplifies and accelerates application development by reducing the amount of manual coding required. Low-code platforms provide visual tools and pre-built components that enable users to design, build, and deploy applications with minimal coding expertise. Several big investments in low-code and no-code projects have already been made in the Czech Republic, with hundreds of millions flowing into the field. Even giants like SAP are venturing into low- and no-code.
Recently, the AI language model ChatGPT has entered the game and is becoming increasingly useful for IT companies. ChatGPT is an AI language model developed by OpenAI that is capable of generating human-like text based on the input it receives. It uses a deep neural network to learn new patterns and continuously improve its results. ChatGPT can be used as a virtual assistant to help developers and IT professionals with their work, help with automated testing and quality assurance and is useful for natural language processing (NLP) tasks such as sentiment analysis and text classification.
Nectain has successfully integrated ChatGPT into its processes and is even training it to create low-code modules, which could lead to fully automated software development. This integration is currently in test mode but may soon become an integral part of the development process in Nectain. The company is seeking investors to expand its business in the Czech VC market. The funding is not needed for developing the product, which is “ready,” but rather for marketing and sales. The first clients are already coming from Germany and Turkey.
The Ukrainian Czech firm Nectain has successfully developed an enterprise low-code platform for digital process automation that has been successful in Ukraine and is now expanding its business in the Czech VC market. The recent integration of ChatGPT into its processes has the potential to lead to fully automated software development, making it an integral part of the development process in Nectain. With the platform’s accessibility and usefulness to even non-IT professionals and the increasing popularity of low-code and no-code projects, Nectain is poised for continued success in the future.
