High-Level Structure (HLS): The 2022 version adopts the latest HLS, facilitating integration with diverse management systems.
Revised Annex A: Significant changes in Annex A enhance the standard’s applicability and effectiveness.
Transition Period: Organisations with ISO 27001 certification have a three-year transition period until autumn 2025 to migrate to ISO 27001:2022.
Transition Period Timeline:
1. Accreditation bodies have six months to assess against the new version.
2. Certification bodies will be assessed within six months.
3. Within 12 months of publication, certification bodies can recertify holders.
4. The three-year transition period concludes in October 2025.
