100 Black Men of Las Vegas Inc. Sponsor UNLV Students for Inspirational Collegiate 100 Next Gen Conference

Las Vegas – In a remarkable display of commitment to empowering young minds, the 100 Black Men of Las Vegas sent nine University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) students to attend the Collegiate 100 Next Gen Conference in Atlanta. This three-day, all-expense-paid journey was a transformative experience for the students, who were exposed to invaluable lessons on mentorship, leadership, professional development, mental health, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and personal growth. 

Investing in the Future 

The 100 Black Men of Las Vegas, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and uplifting the African-American community, demonstrated their unwavering commitment to the education and development of young leaders. By sponsoring the UNLV students’ attendance at the Collegiate 100 Next Gen Conference, they provided an extraordinary opportunity for these young scholars to learn from top-notch speakers and experts in various fields. 

A Life-Changing 

Experience The conference, attended by over 300 students from Collegiate 100 chapters across the nation, was a melting pot of inspiration and education. Throughout the three days, attendees engaged in dynamic sessions that covered an array of critical life skills. These included the importance of mentorship, the essence of servant leadership, professional dress etiquette, mental health awareness, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and taking charge of one’s life. 

Star-Studded Speakers 

One of the highlights of the conference was the impressive lineup of speakers who shared their wisdom and experiences with the attendees. Notable figures such as entrepreneur and rapper Young Jeezy and renowned author Dennis Kimbro captivated the audience with their inspirational stories and practical advice. The students were not only inspired but also equipped with knowledge and insights that will undoubtedly impact their future endeavors. 

Local Heroes 

Two local heroes, Kenneth Cottrell and Malik Asare-Osei, played instrumental roles in this initiative. As members of the 100 Black Men of Las Vegas, they were instrumental in establishing the Collegiate 100 chapter at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Their dedication to mentoring and empowering the next generation is exemplified by the success of this initiative. The establishment of the Collegiate 100 chapter at UNLV will serve as a lasting legacy, allowing young leaders to continue benefiting from mentorship, leadership development, and educational opportunities, creating a positive ripple effect throughout the community. 

Changing Lives, One Opportunity at a Time 

The 100 Black Men of Las Vegas commitment to providing opportunities and education to underserved communities is both inspiring and transformative. Their investment in the education and growth of these ten UNLV students not only broadened their horizons but will also contribute to the betterment of the entire Las Vegas community.
