Moroccan Hasnae Taleb Becomes First Arab-African Woman To Be Nominated as Shewolf of Nasdaq

Moroccan entrepreneur, investor, and financial expert Hasnae Taleb has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Arab and African woman to be nominated as “The Shewolf of Nasdaq” by the Nasdaq Stock Market.

Taleb’s journey in finance and stock trading commenced at a young age, and at 21, she broke barriers by becoming the youngest and only Arab woman to serve as an equity trader at the Nasdaq Stock Market. Notably, her impressive career trajectory began at 17 when she secured victory in NASA Marshall’s Space Competition, representing her country, Morocco.

Currently, Hasnae Taleb, a member of the American Chamber of Commerce in the UAE, manages over $4.7 billion for her Dubai-based investment firm, which is fully regulated by the DFSA, becoming the youngest Chief Investment Officer in Dubai International Financial Centre managing this size of funds. She marked her entry into the million-dollar club at the age of 23 and has since evolved into a multifaceted professional, recognized as a “successful entrepreneur, financial expert, TV personality, and investor” by Barchart.

Recognizing her outstanding contributions, Taleb earned the title of “The Best Youngest Trader of the Year” in the United States in 2014 by TheRichest. In the same year, Nasdaq nominated her as “The Youngest Self-Made Equity Trader.” Her achievements have not gone unnoticed in the UAE, where she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ministry of Economy in 2021. More recently, the Filmfare Awards honored her as one of the most inspiring and influential women in the Finance Industry in December 2023, presenting her with an Award of Excellence in Finance.

Taleb attributes her success to a combination of hard work, dedication, and an unwavering passion for the financial industry. She emphasizes the importance of a strong work ethic and resilience, particularly for individuals from humble backgrounds who often lack privilege and resources.

“When someone comes from a background that lacks resources, they are forced to rely on their own drive, determination, and resourcefulness to achieve their goals. I didn’t have another choice, so I had to create my own opportunities,” Taleb remarked.

While acknowledging the role of luck and external circumstances, Taleb places significant emphasis on individual effort. As a role model for women and youth in finance and business, she has cultivated a substantial social media following, with over 180,000 followers. Regularly sharing tips and advice on money management and investing, Hasnae Taleb continues to inspire and empower others every day.
