September 2, 2024 – Lynn Cole, known for her innovative approach to music and art, announces the release of her seventh album, “Multitasking.” Following the success of her previous album, “Safe Room,” Lynn began on a new journey to integrate traditional methods with cutting-edge AI.

“Multitasking” represents a turning point for Cole. The album was crafted using MIDI tracks, recordings of Lynn singing in the shower, and everyday sounds from life. At the core of this project is a technique Lynn developed called “noise painting,” which uses AI to bend spectral noise in audio tracks, transforming it into new sounds. This groundbreaking approach blurs the lines between experimental and mainstream music, making “Multitasking” a first-of-its-kind creation.

“With ‘Multitasking,’ I wanted to create something experimental that doesn’t sound experimental,” says Cole. “It’s an album that integrates AI performances with hand written lyrics in ways that feel very earnest, rich, and organic.”

The album is a concept, the story of a full narrative arc of a relationship, capturing every emotion from beginning to end. With “Multitasking,” Cole presents a deeply personal exploration of connection and disconnection, crafted through an artistic process that’s as unique as the music itself.

“In a lot of ways ‘Multitasking’ is very conventional sounding music. But that’s what makes it so exciting!” says Cole. “You see, it was never ‘performed’ in the conventional sense. I want to prove the use case for how normal musicians are going to work with these types of tools in the future. The last album was a great start, but this one feels like an achievement.”
