CIS ART | Light up campus spaces with creativity

At CIS, we believe that art education is an essential pathway to nurturing students’ creativity, self-expression, and cultural understanding. Our curriculum places a special emphasis on integrating hands-on art practices, guiding students to explore diverse forms such as installation art. Through these experiences, students can convey powerful themes and ideas within three-dimensional spaces.

CIS encourages students to find their own artistic voices while deepening their understanding of the world around them. This exhibition showcases several creative projects from our students—let’s take a closer look:

Artwork Introduction

“Butterflies Chase Dreams” (化蝶追梦)

· Artists: Serena, Cecilia, Marta, Ahina (Grade 9)

· Mentors: Chen Xizhao, Jade Wang

· Display Location: Stairway

· Description: This colorful installation represents transformation and the pursuit of dreams. Guided by their mentors, students used lively patterns and shapes to bring a sense of energy and life to the CIS stairway, celebrating themes of growth, aspiration, and change.

Hi, 泥好 (陶瓷艺术展 – Ceramic Art Showcase)

· Series Theme: Hi, 泥好 (Hi, Clay!)

· Artists: Ava, Elina, Filipp, Amy, Pranav, Andy, Roman, Rayne, Eliana, CC

· Mentors: Zhou Xiaobu, Sissel Tan

· Description: This series highlights the diversity of ceramic art, ranging from natural patterns to geometric and abstract designs. Each piece showcases the students’ creativity and sensitivity to the material, offering viewers a warm, expressive connection to the creators’ emotions through the tactile quality of clay.

“Shoal” (鱼群)

· Artists: Selina, Ian, George (Grade 10)

· Mentors: Chen Xizhao, Jade Wang 

· Materials: Iron wire, plastic pieces, acrylic sheets

· Display Location: Stairway Entrance

· Description: Situated at the stairway entrance, this installation mimics the fluid movement of a school of fish, symbolizing the spirit of teamwork. The vibrant plastic pieces reflect light dynamically, adding a touch of artistic vibrancy to the campus environment.
