“I wanted to write a with a universal message while authentically rooting it in the African village,” says Ntanda. “So often, African settings are overlooked or sidelined. My goal was to highlight the richness, culture, and vibrancy of village life while giving children everywhere a story they can relate to.”
Sanyu Ntanda, a Ugandan-American storyteller, draws inspiration from her upbringing in Ghana and Uganda, as well as her life in the United States. Through her writing, she bridges cultures and celebrates diversity, crafting stories that resonate across generations and continents.
