The former V.A. Hospice Nurse Robin has overcome several medical obstacles recently, including bladder tumors, kidney cancer, and a stroke. She most recently came upon yet another diagnosis: liver cancer. Unlike conventional chemotherapy or immunotherapy, a prospective new course of treatment called Y90 presents a viable cure. But the hefty expense—between $25,000 and $40,000 or more—has driven her family to set a $25,000 fundraising target via a GoFundMe campaign.

A Driven Nurse Overcoming Unprecedented Difficulties

Robin committed fourteen years of service to veterans in hospice care, providing comfort and support to those at the most sensitive times of life. Her personal health issues started during the epidemic when she developed COVID-19 and pneumonia, then suffered a stroke just days after returning to work. Later medical tests turned up kidney cancer, which resulted in the removal of her right kidney. She stayed cancer-free for almost two years until two bladder tumors discovered late last year were surgically removed in January. Her liver has now been found to have cancer by recent tests.
