Newport News, Virginia – The International Association of HealthCare Professionals is pleased to welcome Benjamin J. Pettus, MD, PhD, Radiologist, to their prestigious organization with his upcoming publication in the Leading Physicians of the World. He is a highly-trained and qualified radiologist with a vast expertise inall facets of his work, including general practice radiology and breast cancer imaging. Dr. Pettus has been practicing for over nine years and is currently serving patients at Peninsula Radiology in Newport News, Virginia. Furthermore, he is a general diagnostic radiologist for Riverside Health System Eastern and Coastal Virginia, as well as a Breast Cancer Imaging and Intervention Specialist and Full Clinical Professor at Riverside Department of Medical Education.
Dr. Pettus completed his PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biopathology with thesis relevant to cancer therapeutics. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2005. Dr. Pettus interned at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia, and served a residency in Diagnostic Radiology and a fellowship in Mammography and Breast Imaging at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Pettus received board certification from the American Board of Radiology and maintains active memberships with the Radiological Society of North America, the American Roentgen Ray Society, Society of Breast Imaging, and the American College of Radiology.
Over the years, Dr. Pettus has attended and presented at numerous national and international meetings, and held various teaching positions. He has over twenty peer-reviewed research publications, co-authored and was awarded a National Institute of Health (NIH) Mass Spectrometry Shared Instrumentation Grant, and has filed for U.S. Provisional Patents related to findings from his research. Dr. Pettus links his success to the sacrifices of his parents and grandparents, the inspiration of many great teachers, and the discipline and motivation of his brother, as well as the love of his wife and kids, and the grace of God for the tremendous privilege and gifts.
