The cornerstone of each piece is scrollwork that features birds or animals intricately interwoven. Closer inspection reveals an elegant crane, tumbling hounds, a delicate fawn or a fierce lion. Many of the pieces use gemstones such as emeralds, sapphires, peridot, chalcedony and Tahitian pearls to further enhance the design and the warmth of the gold.
