Accions School of Maritime and Logistics now offers various technical courses to prepare candidates to join merchant navy and other employment avenues.
Accions offers courses in two broad fields – Maritime training and Logistics and Supply. The Graduate Marine Engineer Training course is an 18-week course that imparts comprehensive training in marine engineering and shipboard practice, followed by four basic STCW courses with Security (DSD) certificate. The course is approved by Vanuatu Maritime Authority (The Republic of Vanuatu). The Australian Deck Watch keepers (DWK) offers fundamental knowledge required to serve on foreign merchant ships, while the General Purpose Rating course is for those who wish to join seamanship activities, cargo handling, and maintenance and operations streams.
For those who wish to join logistics and shipping, Accions offers a 12-month Diploma in Shipping Logistics and a 6-month Advance Diploma in Shipping & Logistics. All courses incorporate both theory and practical training for technical and commercial aspects along with internship.
Beginning as a marine and logistics consultancy in 2009 in Coimbatore, the School started operations in 2015. Accions aims to offer qualified personnel to the marine industry, oil and gas, and logistics and supply chain. Guided by experienced members derived from engineering, science, defence and education, the School is registered under the Tamilnadu Public Societies Registration Act and governed by Accions Educational Trust.
