Who Can It Be Now? Colin Hay, Former Frontman for 80’s Supergroup Men At Work, debuts Documentary which chronicles the inner journey of a singer-songwriter reborn, by singing his truth

“Colin Hay: Waiting for My Real Life | TriCoast”
COLIN HAY – Waiting For My Real Life premieres Jan 30 on VOD and Premium Streaming

Los Angeles, CA – January 30, 2017 – “Everybody has to find their place in this expanding universe… this is my place.”

Colin Hay had it all. His voice was on every radio in the world as he sang about the land down under with 80s rock band Men At Work.  The group quickly became victims of their own successes and faded from view. But a singer sings, and Colin kept the music going outside of the public eye as he started back from the bottom.

COLIN HAY – Waiting For My Real Life is Colin’s inspiring story and journey from dizzying heights to staggering lows to finding salvation through song. The film follows the unexpectedly swift rise to superstardom of Men At Work, to the band’s equally surprising demise, to Colin’s long, slow climb back to relevance and resonance. Ultimately, commitment to his craft and the development of a truly one-of-a-kind stage show set Colin on the path that leads to a deeply satisfying solo career – one that is still ascending.  The new documentary, COLIN HAY – Waiting For My Real Life weaves its story around intimate footage from Colin’s successful  world tour and features interviews with close family and friends as well as celebrity admirers Mick Fleetwood, Zach Braff, Sia Furler and many others.   Now, with sold out shows and a word-of-mouth reputation for offering one of the finest evenings a music fan could ask for, Colin finds himself at the top of his powers with his 13th solo release, Fierce Mercy, considered the finest album of his solo career.  Available from Compass Records starting March 3rd, 2017, Fierce Mercy explores themes of love and loss, mortality, and even the odd UFO sighting, but always with the singular perspective and insightful wit that define Hay’s work.

A favorite on the festival circuit, COLIN HAY – Waiting For My Real Life took home the Jury Prize at the Sound Unseen Film + Music Festival, which was recently named one of the “25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World” by MovieMaker Magazine. Additional festival awards include Best Documentary Feature at the Austin Revolution Film Festival, and Nashville Film Festival’s Audience Award.

City Winery, the multi-citied winery and event space, and long time host to Colin’s popular shows, will hold special premiere screenings of COLIN HAY – WAITING FOR MY REAL LIFE in Chicago (Jan 30) and New York (Feb 1).  Both screenings will be followed by a live Q&A with Colin and director Nate Gowthan.
