There’s a family of educators at La Mesa Dale Elementary School this year.

Nick Martinez has been teaching in La Mesa-Spring Valley School District for the past 26 years. 

He teaches first grade at La Mesa Dale Elementary, and has always had a knack for teaching and connecting with his students; bilingual, BCLAD, and Hispanic, Mr. Martinez is able to reach a large span of students and relate to them. 

La Mesa Dale knows that students are inspired by teachers they can relate to, and pride themselves on striving to provide role models and equal representation in their teaching staff.

Mr. Martinez’s daughter, Viviana Martinez, attended La-Mesa Spring Valley schools from Kindergarten through Middle School, always with the goal of becoming a teacher. Even at a young age, she helped out in her dad’s classroom.

This past August, she was officially hired at La Mesa Dale Elementary as a teacher. Ms. Martinez works just two hallways down from her father’s classroom, and teaches 2nd grade. 

A love for teaching truly does run in this family, and La Mesa Dale Elementary is very excited to have both Nick and Viviana Martinez as part of their staff.
