Orlando, FL – Florida’s soccer scene has exploded with the arrival of Lionel Messi to Inter Miami CF. But the scene was already set by another Argentine, Mauro Portillo, co-founder of Ideasport and a pioneer of Argentine soccer.

“We are just bearing the fruit of laying a foundation for a groundbreaking time in US soccer, we have both the feeder programs and MLS league experiencing unprecedented growth in quality and quantity,” declared Portillo who in Argentina pioneered woman’s soccer with Villa Unidas FC.

In 2017 Ideasport launched a daring program to create an elite level youth program incorporating Argentine and Spaniard style of playing. La Liga, Europe’s most important league, took interest in the Orlando based program and formed a partnership to bring the best of the world to teach American youth the skills championed by the likes of Messi and Ronaldo.

Portillos vision for what American soccer should look like has been clear from the beginning.

“US soccer needed to mature from both the youth and the professional sides until they meet halfway. The MLS needed a major shift and attraction like Messi and the youth programs needed year-round training by European and South American experts hired out of established clubs and federations, not just the willing dad coach,” states Protillo.

Portillo’s vision at Ideasports today has over 786 registered youth players, over 40 of the world’s best coaching staff and ambassadors including World Cup winner Javier “Pupi” Zanetti (Argentina) and Rivaldo Ferreira (Brazil).

“We have put a winning strategy to produce in America the best soccer players by counting on the support of ligivng legands like Rivaldo and Zanetti,” says Portillo.

With top world players like Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba already signed to MLS league, and rumors of the likes of Sergio Ramos and Luke Modric considering a move to the American league, it is the best time for US soccer.

“With the league becoming more globally relevant our young players will have a super league to aspire to play in. Exciting times for US soccer,” concluded the Argentine soccer expert.
