Kelly Tabor and Richard Rossi, the talented authors behind the enchanting children’s book Lucy and the Lake Monster, have been nominated for the prestigious Red Letter Awards in the category of Best Children’s Author.  The awards ceremony is September 16 in Nashville, hosted by Carla Jackson and Ben Graham.  This recognition coupled with the wave of press mentions is a testament to their exceptional storytelling and their ability to captivate young readers.

Released recently on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, IngramSpark, and The Home of Champ, Lucy & the Lake Monster is a captivating children’s story that appeals to adults too. The book takes readers on the adventures of Lucy and her grandfather “Papa.”  Its riveting storyline and plotting make it a thorough masterpiece. Lucy & the Lake Monster follows the story of Lucy Lago, a nine-year-old orphan who believes that Champ, the Lake Champlain Sea Serpent, lives and lurks in the lake by her cabin in Crown Point.

There has been a lot of clamor about the book since its release and after the authors held massive book signing events at Barnes & Noble stores with hundreds of people lining up to get their copies signed by Kelly and Richard.

The most recent book signing event was held at the Champ Day Festival in Port Henry, New York on August 5. Speaking about the event, Kelly Tabor had this to say, “Our Barnes & Noble book signings sold out all the books that the stores had, so the book signings have been very successful.”

In a related development, there’s an update on the movie adaptation for Lucy and the Lake Monster. Weeks after the release of the book, Kelly and Richard announced plans were underway to create a movie based on the book. The movie is currently in post-production and will be coming to theaters worldwide.  The film stars Emma Pearson as Lucy, Richard Rossi as Papa, Kelly Tabor as schoolteacher Miss Marino, and Dave and Lori Peltan as the villains.  A half-dozen A-list celebrities make surprise cameos in the film.
