Nearly 3,000 applications were received for the class of 2019 with 15 brands making up the class. Macy’s basically saw promise in the brand and wanted to partner in bringing men with textured hair a grooming outlet.
“To have seasoned executives and buyers find interest in Solo Noir products was humbling, it validated that I have staying power and that there is a white space in the market for my brand, and that is such an amazing feeling,” says Andrea Polk.
In addition to participating in The Workshop At Macy’s, Andrea Polk has also received recognition from different quarters, named one of Ariel Investment’s Top 40 Under 40 Game Changers in Chicago in 2014. She was also selected to showcase Solo Noir to international buyers in South Africa alongside 10 other top businesses from Chicago with the brand named Best Consumer Product in Chicago in 2017.
