Bella Ella Boutique is delighted to announce the winner of the 2021 Bella Ella BE You Scholarship, Lina Tamayo. Making the initial announcement through its website, Bella Ella Boutique created their BE You Scholarship as an extension of their company values to empower those around us, obtain knowledge & grow, and appreciate uniqueness in everyone.
Staying true to your unique self, despite adversity, is one of the online boutique’s core values. For the third year, Bella Ella Boutique celebrates the unique stories and accomplishments of others by awarding a $2,500 scholarship to someone who has shown the world their true selves, despite the challenges they’ve encountered.
For the 2021 edition, the brand received hundreds of submissions. The Bella Ella team reviewed each and every applicant’s story. Through all the submissions a single applicant stood out from the crowd as being true to her unique self, in spite of adversity. Columbian American undergraduate student Lina Tamayo, currently pursuing a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, has lived a life showcasing these values.
“We are ecstatic to provide Lina with the opportunity to further her education and accomplish her dream of help children who are struggling with speech and language barriers. Lina’s story is inspiring to us all, and we are proud to have her as a representative of our core values here at Bella Ella” said Steve Merrill, CEO of Bella Ella Boutique.
More can be found about Lina on the company’s website, bellaellaboutique.com
In learning of being selected for the scholarship, Lina said “Receiving this scholarship means so much to me because I am reminded that others believe in me as much as I do. Obtaining this scholarship furthers my passion to thrive in school so I can help others as a future speech-language pathologist.”
Bella Ella Boutique believes people’s styles are an expression of who they are. The company strives to empower people through the clothes they wear, with perfect outfits and properly curated wardrobes, through which they can confidently showcase their identities.
Bella Ella Boutique was started in 2010 by Alisha Groo, who was a single mom at the time, and looking to provide a better life for her baby. Since then the company has grown to four retail locations in Utah, as well as a rapidly expanding online boutique featuring products for all occasions in a women’s life including bridesmaids’ dresses, activewear, shoes, white dresses, and other dresses for specific occasions.
