Los Angeles, CA – December 4, 2017 –
Evil twins are being unleashed from the big screen into the real world.
After DarkCoast’s successful domestic theatrical run in 10 major US cities and skyrocketing reviews since initial release in 2016, Director Cody Calahan’s female high-concept psychological horror, “LET HER OUT”, many (especially twins) left the theaters, anxiously wondering if they themselves might have an evil twin trying to get out.
Cinematographer Jeff Maher’s striking visuals are powerful through the contrast of the film’s dark horror against a bright color palette, which combined with shaky POV shots through Helen’s (Alanna LeVierge) eyes immerses the audience in her paranormal, yet real-life panic by capturing the amplified horrors of real-life medical condition, “Vanishing Twin Syndrome”.
It’s no longer just the Halloween scares – evil twins are being unleashed from the big screen into the real world.
Newsweek reporter Maria Perez captured real-life evil twins this week with her article headlining, “ ‘Evil Twin’ Who Plotted Sister’s Death Could Be Released Soon’.
South Korean native, Jeen “Gina” Han is crime-famous for spending nearly two decades in Chowchilla’s Central Women’s Facility after she was convicted of planning her identical twin sister, Sunny Han’s murder in 1996.

“California Governor Jerry Brown will decide if he will uphold Han’s parole or reject it, but the Orange County district attorney’s office hopes Han is denied parole. Prosecutors say Han has not her mental health issues and still poses a risk to the public,” reported Perez.
In a letter to Brown, Deputy District Attorney Nikki Chambers described Han as having “extreme intelligence coupled with a personality disorder”. Chambers added, “The fact remains that she is still flexing the manipulation muscles that she used when she recruited two young men (Archie Bryant and John Sayarath) to murder her sister”.
“[The] Irvine police even referred to them as ‘the evil twin and good twin’,” reported Joseph Serna and Shelby Grad from the Los Angeles Times, adding that, “Prosecutors at the time said Jeen Han had been telling people for days that she wanted her sister dead and was trying to recruit someone to help her do it.”

19 years later, Han is making strides to be let out of her cellblock… but will there be another victim? While we all hope not, it is clear that Calahan captured the real-life horror of twins.
Are you brave enough to watch the twin-horror realities by yourself? Especially those in California should fear Han’s release… you could be next.
“LET HER OUT” features Alanna LeVierge as the terrorized lead of Helen, with support from Nina Kiri (“The Haunted House of Kirby Road”, “Geek Charming”) and Adam Christie (“Antisocial”).
