Author’s Bio:
Mary Lamb Lucas was born and raised in West Virginia. She migrated to Virginia for college, where she met the man she married and had five children—a son and two sets of twin daughters. An experienced parent and psychotherapist, Mary Lamb has always loved to write. Inspired by Little House on the Prairie as a child, she began writing her own stories at age eight. Her passion for writing continued throughout her life, contributing articles to the Junior League of Richmond’s newsletter and a local newspaper column while raising her children.
After her children left home and her marriage ended, Mary Lamb moved to Colorado, where she established her therapy practice. Her memoir was inspired by her son Trip, who took his own life at age 48. She has workshopped her memoir at Aspen Words workshops, other writing courses and retreats, and with a local writing group. In addition to her love for writing and being a mom, Mary Lamb has a deep affection for horses, which were a significant part of her life for many years.
