British psychologist Lee Chambers speaks at the Association for Business Psychology Annual Conference
ABP Conference 2021 – Beyond
The founder of Essentialise Workplace Wellbeing presented a talk on Inclusive Wellbeing for a Hybrid World

The annual conference of the Association for Business Psychologists took place last week, with an amazing array of speakers and workshops taking place over the whole week. With an action-packed agenda online from morning until early evening, the overarching theme for this year was Looking Beyond COVID. Lessons for the future of the workforce were segmented into four different streams, including wellbeing, diversity, purpose and connectivity. With well-known speakers and practitioners in each of the streams, the insights and research shared over the course of the week was beyond expectation and the event itself ran seamlessly, in no small part thanks to the amazing ABP support team.

Across the week, a variety of speakers shared their industry experience, cutting edge research and vision of how the future of work will continue to unfold. Those on the stage included John Amaechi, Nathalie Nahai, Wayne Hemingway and Stuart Desson. Joining them as the final talk on the wellbeing stage was British psychologist Lee Chambers, who discussed inclusive wellbeing and how important intersectionality is when it comes to workplace wellbeing strategies. Despite being unwell, he managed to deliver and didn’t want to let the team down.

Speaking to Lee Chambers after the event, he said, “It was a proud moment taking the virtual stage after a week of amazing talks and workshops. I felt a fair bit of pressure to end the event on the high note it deserved, and I tried my best to make that happen, despite being under the weather. I want to extend my thanks to the whole ABP team for making me feel at home and running such a well managed and highly attended event. I also want to thank Maria for inviting me to talk and all those who had positive feedback and kind words for me at the conference end. It was a real landmark for Essentialise and my own personal journey.”

Next up for the ABP is the Awards Ceremony and Day Conference on the 27th of January 2022, which promises to be both a spectacular event and a chance to recognise excellence in the field of business psychology.
