3-Fluoroethamphetamine which is also known as 3-FEA is the novel ring-substituted amphetamine compound which is producing the mixture of stimulant effects and entactogenic when administered. 3-FEA is also structurally relating to the series of designer fluorinated substituted amphetamines that are originally included in the compounds such as 2-FMA, 2-FA, 3-FA, 4-Fa, 4-FMA.
Like its parent compound 3-Fa, the toxicological, pharmacological and subjective effects of 3-FEA in humans have yet to be mapped out in detail.
3-FEA has a very extreme short history of human recreational use and has not been documented for being sold on the streets. It has recently made available for the sale in the grey market as the research chemicals by vendors online. Due to its potent effects, the unknown toxicity profile, and habit-forming properties it is strongly recommended that one has to use the proper harm reduction practices while using this substance.
Subjective Effects
Unlike the close analog 3-FA, which has been reported as non-recreational and relatively functional, 3-FEA is producing effects that are much more similar to the analog 4-FA which is producing entactogenic effects.
The effects which are listed below are all based upon the personal experiences and subjective effects contributed by users.
Physical Effects
- Perception of bodily heaviness: Depending on the user and dosage some may get a feeling of being more stimulated than sedated, one may also feel if they have become lighter or heavier.
- Sedation & Stimulation: 3-FEA is known for producing a paradoxical combination of stimulatory and sedating effects with the sedating aspects believed to be attributable to the significant amount of serotonin which it is releasing.
- Physical Euphoria
- Spontaneous bodily sensations: Early reports describe that the body high of 3-FEA is from moderate to the strong euphoric tingling sensation that can encompass the entire body which is capable of becoming extremely pleasurable at higher dosages.
- Abnormal heartbeat
- Tactile enhancement: this primarily occurs with higher doses.
- Increased blood pressure
- Increased heartbeat
- Temperature regulation suppression
- Increased perspiration
Cognitive Effects
- Disinhibition
- Anxiety suppression: 3-FEA are typically producing anxiety suppressing effects. However, the anxiety can also occur when you are nearer to the end of the substance’s effect when the higher dosages have been used.
- Empathy, sociability and affection enhancement
- Though acceleration or deceleration: 3-FEA is responsible for accelerating the thought during the first half and come-up of the effect of the drug.
- Ego inflation
- Increased music appreciation
- Cognitive euphoria
- Motivation enhancement
- Increased libido
- Immersion enhancement
- Time distortion: This can be described as the experience of time speeding up and passing much faster than usual.
- Compulsive Redosing
- Wakefulness: This effect typically occurs by the use of multiple or higher dosages.
After Effects
These effects are occurring during the stimulant experience and people generally feel uncomfortable and negative in comparison to the effects which had occurred during the peak. These effects are generally referred to as the comedown and occur because of the neurotransmitter depletion. It effects commonly include:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Cognitive fatigue
- Irritability
- Pupil dilation
- Motivation suppression
- Wakefulness
- Thought deceleration
