A new film starring I Spit On Your Grave’s Camille Keaton has just been released on DVD and Digital.
Cry for the Badman, written and directed by Sam Farmer, tells of a small-town widow (Keaton) who receives a deadly ultimatum from the privileged sons of a local land developer to sell her beloved property. With 24 hours to decide and her pleas to the town’s corrupt sheriff falling on deaf ears, she realizes she must take matters into her own hands. Her quest for justice turns into an all-out battle and grisly confrontation.
Keaton made a name for herselfd in the classic revenge thriller I Spit on Your Grave.
Asked about his inspirations for the film, Farmer said in a recent interview that when “I was a producer at a PBS station down here [in Florida] and I had pitched an idea for a docu-series called “Soft Target,” which was about violence against women, specifically here in the city of Jacksonville. Jacksonville had been experiencing a spike in murder at the time, and violent crime.”
The series didn’t come to fruition but the original idea infestated into a feature idea – one which Uncork’d Entertainment nabbed the rights to last year.
Karen Konzen, and Scott Peeler also star in Cry for the Bad Man which premiered on DVD and Digital May 5.
