About Ciré the Maestro
The best musicians are the ones who are successful at creating their own original world of music. Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, the Mecca of style, culture, and vibrant nightlife, Eric Nicholas, also known in the Music Industry as “Ciré the Maestro,” developed into the ultimate Renaissance artist.
The son of a musician, Eric caught the music bug early in life. Watching his dad practice on piano and perform as a keyboardist with his band, Eric developed a passionate love for music at a very young age. At the age of five, Eric performed his first recording session, singing background vocals on his father’s first recording “Disco Claus” by the Bionic I.
Eric’s spiritual journey began at age 9 when Eric was introduced to The Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research (IDMR), founded by Dr. Henry C. Kinley. It was there he met Richard Amos, former bass player of the funk group Sam and the Soul Machine. Amos began teaching Eric scales and music theory. By the time Eric reached age twelve, he was already performing in the Bible School Choir. This experience allowed Eric to grow into a seasoned musician. He credits the spiritual teachings of Dr. Kinley for his spiritual foundation and stability.
When Eric saw the legendary Herbie Hancock perform, at that moment he knew that he was destined to do something extraordinary with his talent. Thus, his destiny was set.
As a young man, Eric was afforded the opportunity of studying music at the acclaimed New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA), which allowed him to travel the world and perform throughout Europe and South America.
Eric currently resides in Los Angeles, California, where he launched his Publishing Company, Chikelu Music Publishing (BMI), which allowed him to the opportunity to share his talents as a Songwriter, Producer, Publisher, and Artist.
With over 25 years in the music industry, Eric Nicholas, now known as Ciré the Maestro, utilizes his extensive knowledge of the techniques of acoustic designing and sound recording to produce music in a plethora of genres: Pop, Rock, R&B, Soul, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Classical, Orchestral, as well as his own original music style. Passionate about presenting real quality music that comes from his heart to his listening audience, Ciré the Maestro is truly an inspiration to the Music Industry. His personal musical inspirations extend from Bill Evans, Kenny Kirkland, and Joe Sample, to Miles Davis, George Duke, and Chic Corea.
Shrouded by love, Ciré the Maestro credits his Heavenly Father for providing him a family that keeps him striving. His desire is to share his musical passion with people of all ages, and inspire the younger generation to express themselves musically with their own style, free from any previous rules.
