Essex, Maryland – July 23, 2024 – Chesapeake AED Services proudly announces its official recognition as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE). The certification was granted by the Maryland Department of Transportation’s (MDOT) Office of Minority Business Enterprise (OMBE), a program committed to advancing diversity initiatives in the state.
With the agency’s official stamp of approval, CAED is excited to join a community of exceptional and inclusive local businesses that share the MBE status. “This MBE certification will enable us to reach more organizations, to teach others tosave a life,” said Carol Marsiglia, owner of CAED.
Marsiglia, an experienced nurse specializing in healthcare informatics, formerly was Senior Vice President for Strategic Initiatives at The Coordinating Center for three decades. After a career dedicated to advancing healthcare programs within her community, Marsiglia aims to enhance training and accessibility of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) across the region through CAED. Founded in 2003 by retired paramedic Mike Marsiglia, Chesapeake AED Services began as a vital community resource for CPR and Basic Life Support Training.
In 2007, ownership transitioned to Carol Marsiglia. Over the past two decades, CAED has achieved significant milestones under her leadership. It has earned recognition as an official American Heart Training Center, expanded its offerings to include Qualitative Fit Testing, and broadened its scope to encompass AED Sales, Service, and program Management.
In 2023, CAED further solidified its impact by becoming a Save Station Distributor, promoting round-the-clock access to critical life-saving equipment through Public Access Defibrillation Programs. With our recent MBE certification, CAED takes great pride in the opportunities this achievement presents.
We are enthusiastic about the prospects it offers not only for our business growth but also for the enhanced services we can provide to our valued clients and partners. “It is my passion to educate the public about sudden cardiac arrest and empower themwith the training and access to AEDs so that we all have the power to intervene andsave a life,” said Marsigilia.
