An exhibition showcasing the digital reform achievements of East China’s Zhejiang province in 2021 opened at the Zhejiang Archives Center on Jan 17.
Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang and a leader in digital reform in the province, has made remarkable progress in digital reform over the past year.
Themed on digital reform being able to connect all aspects of life, the exhibition area features visuals of local scenic and cultural landmarks, each of which symbolizes different stages of Hangzhou’s digital development.
The landmarks include the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon, one of the most famous scenic spots of the West Lake, the Leifeng Pagoda, Wulin Square World Financial Center, Civic Center, Hangzhou Grand Theater, and venues for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022.
Zhong Xiaoxiao, vice-president of the labor union of Nongfu Spring Co, a beverage giant, said: “I hope that digital reform will continue to drive improvements in production, people’s livelihoods, and governance capacity.”
Zhou Jun, director of the R&D strategy cooperation of NetEase (Hangzhou) Network Co, said he is proud to see Zhejiang making fruitful results and that he himself has benefited much from the digital reform.
“The Zhe Li Ban mobile app allows me to handle certain matters, such as performing out-patient registration, without having to visit different government departments,” Zhou said. “I think Zhejiang’s achievements in digital reform will be even greater with the continued elimination of data barriers.”

Statistics show that Hangzhou’s digital achievements currently apply to 488 living scenarios. Ninety-six report forms frequently used by 18 government departments have been developed, saving seven hours of form-filling time per week for grass-root civil servants.
The mutual recognition and sharing of medical examination results between hospitals have been carried out 226,000 times, resulting in savings of 12.37 million yuan ($1.96 million) for both government medical healthcare insurance funds and individuals.
The integrated service mini-program for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, which can be accessed via the Chinese mobile payment app Alipay, has over 13 million users.
The exhibition, which is the first of its kind in China, will run for three months.
