Cindy Gallop Unleashes Reality Check on Tiger Therapy Podcast: Debunking the Myth of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Training Success
I don’t sell diversity, I make people want to buy it.
Former president of major advertising company, Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Cindy Gallop, delivers hard truths as a guest on Tiger Therapy

Tiger Therapy” a podcast by Tigerhall, an organizational knowledge infrastructure solution, welcomes Cindy Gallop, a brand and business innovator, consultant, coach, keynote speaker, and founder of MakeLoveNotPorn, in an episode titled “Debunking the Myth of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Training Success.” During the episode, Gallop delivers candid insights into the flaws of traditional DEI training, how to make people buy in to diversity, and spotlights why sexual harassment in the workplace is a major roadblock in DEI.

Gallop’s perspective throughout the episode is clear: DEI training often falls short, doing more harm than good in organizations. She questions the common narrative around diversity and inclusion, emphasizing that the constant focus on DEI initiatives can breed resentment in majority groups, undermine the intended goals, and give a false sense of checking a box.

“In a company, when you bang on about diversity, and have a ton of diversity initiatives, it becomes very easy for people to say, ‘oh, we’ve got diversity taken care of, so I can carry on operating the same way I always have,’” says Gallop.

A firm believer in strategic thinking and creative execution, Gallop advocates for a different approach when it comes to DEI, an “extremely ingenious strategy, and highly creative execution.”

Drawing on her past experiences, she shares success stories where organizations were able to embed DEI into their culture. One such story was a collaborative effort with an emerging agency where her involvement was positioned as business development assistance. But in reality, she was transforming diversity and inclusion in the organization.

By having open conversations with employees about business development, she was able to advise organizations what they needed to do strategically, and how to execute that strategy to make sure they were fully diverse and inclusive from every point from this day onwards.

The latter half of the episode shifts to Gallop addressing sexual harassment and dismantling taboos around discussing intimacy. Gallop tackles sexual harassment as a critical business issue, shedding light on its impact on women’s careers, and a lynchpin issue when it comes to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

“Sexual harassment manages women out of the industry, derails women’s careers, destroys women’s dreams, pulverizers women’s ambitions, and keeps women out of leadership and influence and power, the same female leaders who would make a diversity inclusion happen,” says Gallop.

In the face of a profound lack of female leadership, Tiger Therapy Host Pippa Woodhead asked Gallop to speak on messaging that women often receive in the workplace: act more like men to get to the top. Pippa asks what needs to happen for more women to rise up the ranks in the workplace?

Gallop calls for a cultural shift. She emphasizes the importance of men taking greater accountability and apologizing more, creating a workplace culture where responsibility is shared. Gallop urges a fresh perspective, “What I really encourage people to do is to flip the gender lens and look at how enormously effective women are at leading, managing and getting things done. I encourage men to adopt female leadership role models, and base themselves on how women leaders operate because they will be much better leaders as a result.”

Cindy Gallop’s appearance on Tiger Therapy aligns with the podcast’s theme of overcoming limited beliefs and challenging that status-quo. Gallop urges transformative change in the way businesses approach DEI and sexual harassment.

Tiger Therapy continues to bring audiences candid conversations with industry leaders and successful individuals, providing listeners with insights and tools to conquer self-doubt and limited beliefs.

Pippa Woodhead

Pippa Woodhead, Head of Podcasts at Tigerhall in Singapore and expanding rapidly across Asia Pacific and the US, has had her fair share of imposter syndrome moments in her career. This struggle inspired her to create “Tiger Therapy.”

She used to shy away from opportunities, stay out of the spotlight, and believe that a successful career wasn’t for her. But now, she’s done with holding herself back and is ready to embrace life fully.

During her five years at Tigerhall, Pippa conducted over 800 interviews with exceptional figures in the business world, including Fortune 500 executives, workplace happiness experts, neuroscientists, and Olympic medalists. What she discovered is that great leaders are often highly self-aware. They recognize their own limiting beliefs and know when to heed self-doubt as a valuable message and when to push past it.

Through these insightful podcast conversations, Pippa learned a lot about herself, and the medium itself became her form of therapy. With Tiger Therapy, her aim is to engage in meaningful conversations, explore people’s career journeys, discover more about herself, and share some laughs along the way.

Originally from the UK, Pippa has lived in India, Thailand, and now proudly calls Singapore her home.
