Collaborative Practice San Diego Announces New Board of Director

Collaborative Practice San Diego, a non-profit organization supporting no-court divorce and Collaborative Divorce practitioners, has announced a new Board of Directors for the upcoming year. This leadership change aims to guide the organization’s initiatives and foster continued growth in Collaborative Divorce services.

Outgoing president Karen Kaseno expressed confidence in the incoming Board of Directors for Collaborative Practice San Diego. She highlighted the professionalism, dedication, and high-quality service of the new leadership, stating that their efforts would further strengthen and enhance the organization’s impact on clients and the community.

“I have enjoyed working alongside these professionals, who provide excellent services to their clients and the community and are dedicated to helping couples navigate their divorce in a peaceful and respectful manner, ” Ms. Kaseno said.

Collaborative Practice San Diego is made up of professionals who work in the family law fields. Members are lawyers, financial professionals, therapists and counselors. Ms. Fleischer said all have the same goal in mind, to make the divorce process as peaceful and equitable as possible and certainly keep the best interests of any children foremost.

As the immediate past president, Ms. Kaseno will be there to advise the new President and Board and lend her experiences to matters as needed.

The new board members are:

President – Shawn Weber. Mr. Weber is an attorney based in Solana Beach. Mr. Weber steps up from the president-elect position and will guide the Association through the coming year. He is also a member the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and is a former President of Collaborative Practice California (CP Cal), a California statewide organization dedicated to the promotion of Collaborative Practice throughout California.

President Elect – Meredith Lewis. Ms. Lewis is a financial professional based in Solana Beach. She will take over as president in 2026. Ms. Lewis is a Certified Family Law Specialist, a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, and also volunteers her time as a Judge Pro Tem in family law. She serves as a Board Member and San Diego Delegate to Collaborative Practice California.

Secretary – Carole Baldwin. Ms. Baldwin is an attorney with the firm of Baldwin & Da Silva, LLP. She will handle recording meetings and notifying members of upcoming events.

Treasurer – Kimberly Alvarado, CPA, ABV, CFF. Ms. Alvarado is a financial specialist who is also a financial expert volunteer for the Los Angeles Superior Court Alternative Dispute Resolution Program. Her duties are to oversee the association’s money and expenses and make regular financial reports to the board.

Members-at-Large: Shawn D. Skillin and Lynn Waldman, LCSW. Ms. Skillin is an attorney based in San Diego. Ms. Waldman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in San Diego. They represent the general membership in Board meetings.

Collaborative Practice San Diego brings together people from various fields involved in Collaborative Divorce, a process in which professionals assist divorcing families without resorting to adversarial court processes. Professionals in Collaborative Divorce sign a pledge to settle divorce cases without going to court. In addition to working to improve members’ skills and abilities, CPSD also holds community workshops to educate the public about divorce choices the first Saturday of every month.
