–Kickstarter Ends with $268,142 and 973 Backers for Solo and Duetto Music Systems from Como Audio–
BOSTON, MA, July 21, 2016 – What began as the launch site for the first of Como Audio’s audio products, aptly called “Solo” and “Duetto,” on June 7th with a projected goal of raising $50,000 on Kickstarter, ended in a huge success on July 15 with a total of $268,142 raised through 973 backers. Solo and Duetto are designed by legendary consumer electronics pioneer Tom DeVesto to make all of the music content available today accessible through one smart music system, simply by touching a button. With Solo and Duetto, there is no need for an app or remote control to listen to music from all content sources including: Spotify, Internet, Bluetooth or FM radio.
“When streaming services took over, a lot of people stopped paying attention to sound quality. You listened to music through your earbuds, your laptop, or your smartphone. Or you connected to a music player through Bluetooth and everything sounded a little better — as long as you stayed within 30 feet,” says Tom DeVesto, Como Audio Founder and Designer.
“My goal has always been to deliver true hi-fidelity in a great-looking, compact wooden designs that would not only produce powerful room-filling sound, but have the ability to sync music throughout the house, simply by pressing a button”, continued Mr. DeVesto. “We are pleased that consumers recognized the high-fidelity sound quality brought to market through my prior companies of Cambridge SoundWorks and Tivoli Audio, to have the confidence to support my new company Como Audio and its first product offerings.”
Solo has a custom Digital Signal Processor with a digital amplifier for its great sound. It comes with six pre-sets for your favorite music sources, a 2.8” color display for Artist/Song meta data and available album art, four-layer voice coil, 3″ woofer, and 60-watt RMS amplifier with 3/4″ tweeter, dual independent alarms, Internet Radio accessing 20,000 stations including Podcasts, multi-room capable, Bluetooth with aptX, is Google Cast/Amazon Dot-ready, NFC, DLNA, four high-res inputs, DAB/DAB+ available for outside North America, and has an optical input to connect audio from a TV. Solo will wirelessly stream music from your computer and comes with a remote control unit, as well as free iOS and Android “Como Control” app. Solo comes in furniture grade wood finishes, as well as a high-gloss lacquer white. Duetto has everything that Solo has except it comes in a slightly larger model with a 3.2 color display for Meta data, with more drivers to fill a larger room with greater sound. Each product will receive updates through the Internet.
“So with a beautiful Italian design, minimal amount of space and advanced technology, Solo and Duetto will deliver robust, hi-fidelity sound with limitless online streaming, multi-room control, all with one-touch access for all your music content,” continues Mr. DeVesto.
Solo measures 5” H x 9.5” W x 4.7” D and will retail for $299. Duetto is 5.3” H x 5.6” W x 14.5” D and will retail for $399. The Kickstarter campaign ended on July 15, 2016 with products to be delivered in early October 2016.
